Tile Care & Maintenance

Keep your tile, grout, and stone looking great by following some simple precautions.  Natural stone and grout are porous materials, susceptible to staining and water penetration. We recommend that all grout and stone jobs be sealed with the appropriate sealer. Unprotected, grout can be stained by daily use and spills.  Many household foods, beverages, and cosmetics can degrade tile grout and damage stone.  Common toiletries like perfume, hairspray, mouthwash and toothpaste, as well as common foods such as orange juice, and soft drinks contain acids and other ingredients that can degrade sealers or damage your grout or stone.  Coffee, red wine, or grape juice will stain your unsealed grout or stone. Even sealed grout and stone can be damaged if the spill is not cleaned up right away.

There are many companies who have a wide range of cleaning and sealing products on the market.  Although typically a little more expensive than brand name products, companies that have developed products to care specifically for stone, tile, and grout are always recommended. DuPont™ StoneTech®, Miracle, Aqua-Mix, and Tile Lab are the leading companies in cleaning and sealing of natural stone and grout. At Tile Perfection, we believe that StoneTech has the best products to clean and protect your new and existing tile and stone. However, you won’t find StoneTech in supermarkets or at Home Depot. Only select tile retailers and Amazon carry their products.

Our Satisfied Customers

We have used Scott at Tile Perfection on numerous occasions over the years. He has retiled 3 bathroom floors, our kitchen counters, our back patio and both fireplaces. On every occasion we found Scott to be on time both in arrival and in finishing the job. He always cleaned up the work area thoroughly and was respectful of our home. Any questions we had were answered, and when needed, he gave recommendations and ideas. We have had other contractors come in to our home and comment on the quality of the tile work. In fact, the one time we had someone do a tile job for us, we ultimately had it torn out and redone by Scott. We would recommend Scott and Tile Perfection with complete confidence.
